For the third time in the last 5 years, Porsche has been confirmed as the number 1 brand in Dealer Satisfaction for cars. This was revealed by the DealerSTAT 2021 award, presented on September 15th at the Automotive Dealer Day Forum to Pietro Innocenti, CEO of Porsche Italy.
The survey for the eighteenth edition took place from May 25th to July 2nd, involving 30 brands and almost 60% of Italian dealers, with a total of 1,243 questionnaires collected. Porsche won the award with a score of 4.08 (on a scale from 1 to 5), compared to the Italian average of 3.39. Mercedes-Benz and BMW complete the podium.
The aspect most appreciated by Porsche dealers is the perception that the brand will allow them to succeed in the market over the next 5 years, but the company also ranks at the top in the rankings for margins, profitability, and after-sales management.
Considering the performance of all 30 brands, the strengths in the relationship between the Manufacturer and the Dealer are the quality of the relationship (rating 3.89), product (3.57), training (3.53), sales management, and national marketing for new models (both 3.51). Areas that still need improvement include business sales (2.77), dealer margins (2.93), and support for local marketing (2.93), especially in terms of financial contribution to dealer communication. “In its 18 editions, DealerSTAT has built its own history in the analyzed topics,” explained Alberto Bet, Quintegia manager. “But it is also an important barometer for evaluating, from the perspective of dealers, the most recent dynamics in the sector and new trends. Regarding electrification (product range, offerings, and dealer support), the average ratings for Italy are positive (3.43), with only 2 out of 30 brands falling below sufficiency. Ratings for the approach to digitization by manufacturers (3.52) are in line as well, although there is still work to be done to make the dealer’s stock visible online, with only 7 brands receiving satisfactory ratings.”
